A Joyful Campaign by Pastor Kim Montenegro
We give because HE gave.
Over September and October, I preached on the fact that no one wants our stuff! In fact, people are trying to get rid of their own stuff. We are beginning to enter into the gift giving season where we give one another more stuff! When someone opens your gift, what expression do you want to see on their face? Is their expression one of burden or excitement?
This Christmas it is our prayer that we will share the life-giving message of Jesus with more people than any other time in the history of our church.
You can help us share this life-giving message through our Year End Christmas Offering. We are asking you to pray and ask God what God would lead you to give towards this offering over and above regular giving.
100% of our Christmas offering will go toward
paying off the student lunch debt
at Deterding Elementary which is $3,000.
Before we get distracted with all the Christmas parties, hosting friends & family, or traveling for the holidays, let’s give our FIRST and BEST gift to those among us who struggle to pay for their kid’s lunch this Christmas.
Is there someone on your Christmas list who has everything? You are able to donate in their name. Do you have someone who has passed away, and would like to honor them? You are able to honor them with a tax deductible gift to help lighten the burden on young families. If you would like to participate in this way, please just let the office know and you can receive a certificate to indicate your gift. This year, your Christmas offering can be given at any point between now and Christmas Eve. Please just note on your offering envelope and check by writing “CHRISTMAS EVE OFFERING”.
Please pray about giving the best gift you can as we sow into people’s lives this Christmas. The key is for everyone to participate and do what you can. We may not be able to give equal gifts but everyone can do something.
Spending money on other people is powerfully life giving. It’s as if we’re created to give. Giving satisfies our most essential self, increases our happiness, and makes us feel more alive.
This Christmas offering is an opportunity for us to grow in our faith, meet urgent needs and prepare us for what God wants to do through our church in 2019 and beyond. We have the opportunity through this offering to impact the lives of so many children. Please consider giving.
Blessings,
Pastor Kim
